Biography
Hiking, pub quizzes and guilty pleasure trashy TV shows. She has it all covered.
1. Can you describe your career path?
Even before high school, I was so certain that I wanted to study languages. The feeling of being able to communicate with someone who speaks a foreign language made me feel sure that this was the right path for me. After studying English and Portuguese at the university and gaining some experience in administration, I realized I preferred working with different types of languages – programming languages. An Open internship application to Pontis got me into the mentorship program. I have been familiar with the basics of programming already, and the program helped me acquire a deeper level of understanding, and finally helped me land a job at Pontis as a Junior Software Engineer.
2. What do you like the most about Pontis?
I know it has been said so many times already, but it continues to be the number one benefit of working at Pontis – the people. The atmosphere at the office (and on Teams) is great, the people are friendly and there for each other, and everyone’s opinion matters. All of my colleagues are such inspiring individuals whom everyone can learn something from and I think we function great as a whole.
3. What technologies do you enjoy the most and why?
I haven’t worked with many different technologies yet, but so far, I am a big fan of the .NET framework which is also used in a project I am currently working on. I used to focus more on front-end in various online courses, but it took one amazing mentor and a small push in the right direction to make me realize that this is the technology I currently feel most comfortable with.
4. What is your favourite free time activity?
Spending time with my friends and family, a pub quiz during the week, and a hike on the weekend. Also, my guilty pleasure is trashy reality shows – a good rule of thumb is the lower the score on IMDb, the bigger the chance I’ll like it.
